PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To coordinate and control the maintenance, development, renewal, construction, and provision of civil infrastructure (permanent way, bridges, culverts, buildings, structures, etc.) in such a way that customer needs are satisfied and resources are optimized.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• B. Sc. degree in Civil Engineering, registered as a professional Engineer with the Namibian Engineering Council
• Ten years’ experience in a civil construction environment of which three years should have been at Senior Engineer level, with emphasis on rail infrastructure maintenance and construction
• Track maintenance, design and construction, building and structures maintenance, design and construction, knowledge of interaction with rolling stock and railway environment, costing and budgeting for infrastructure maintenance and construction
• Analytical, interpersonal skills, long-term planning skills, organizational skills, leadership/ management, and communication skills
