At TransNamib we offer a fully integrated door-to-door transport solution. We are completely equipped to transship most commodities (containers, palletised freight and loose bulk freight) from road to rail and vice versa. Road Freight
Our road transport services supplement our rail services by providing onward transport to destinations not served by rail. TransNamib transports any type of material, live stock, equipment and machinery – meeting your needs all the way.

Rail Freight
TransNamib’s rail system is linked to that of Spoornet/Transnet in South Africa, which, in turn, connects with all countries in the SADC region. Trains operate between Namibia and South Africa on a daily basis. Online monitoring services ensure a reliable and predictable service. Rail transport options include: full wagon loads in open or closed-top wagons, containers (3m and 6m), tank wagons for liquids and special motor-vehicle transport wagons.

Container Services
Our new dedicated container terminal, the Windhoek Container Terminal (WINCON), is ideally located 397 kilometres from the nearest ocean, close to the Northern Industrial Area in Windhoek. Thus, if your cargo is travelling on the shortest route between Europe or the American and the SADC region, we can make it move even faster.
WINCON is fully accredited with Customs and Excise as an in-bond facility, which means customs clearing procedures are finalised at the customers’ doorsteps within Windhoek. In-bond removal of containers by rail from Walvis Bay to WINCON is offered at no additional cost to the customer.
We offer:
- A daily door-to-door service throughout Namibia for the transport of deep-sea containers in 6m and 12m sizes.
- Containerised shipments in mini 1,5m, 3m and 6m own or foreign containers.
- Handling and delivery equipment that include a 45-ton reach stacker, container side loaders, forklifts, container trailer and truck tractors.
- Delivery of containers at the customers’ premises on trailers as well as at ground level for easy access.
- Monitoring and tracking of containers on a fully computerised system, which gives customers fast access to any container movement information they require.

Mining
TransNamib transports components and machinery for mining, we assist with the importing of raw materials and exporting mining products and transport explosives and related chemicals needed in the mining processes. We make the logistical process a whole lot easier with our road and rail intermodal system. To meeting our mining clients’ needs even further, TransNamib makes the loading and offloading of mining materials smoother by constructing the required facilities on-site. TransNamib is connected to the Walvis Bay port, which makes importing and exporting of materials a breeze.
